Can you answer Andrew R’s question about GPS?:

i need to make a tracking device that can be tracked about a mile away and that can fit in a model rocket and is fairly cheap. Any ideas?

GPS Feedback: Buy one of those phones that a parent can use to track their kids on the internet with, take out the gps device and insert into the rocket.

GPS Feedback: Tracking means? GPS? RFID? RF? So many different technologies you can use.

GPS? homemade? Not unless you’re an electrical engineer. You can get RFID chips pretty cheap and make something out of those. But it depends on your purposes. I think you’re trying to make something so you can find the rocket after you launch it? But Im not sure since you didnt say what you’re using it for. RF would be much less expensive, and the most basic of technology. I suggest finding a RF transmitter and locater, if thats the case; Cheapest solution.

GPS Feedback: get a aa battery and a paper clip an a watch. take the paper clip and tape it to th + side of the battery. take the battery and then stick it on the back of the watch. it has to be a walkie talkie watch though. then tape it onto your rocket. and then you take the other battery and watch and tape them together and then it should get you an internet connection on your computer and then you get to locate it. its pretty freakn amazing. oh and you need to download a software called trackerhacker 2.6. you just type it on google and free download it. its pretty straight forward.
