What type of antenna should I use for my GPS?

There are various types of antenna that you
can use for your GPS receiver. One of the
most popular types of GPS antenna for
consumer model receivers is the quad helix
antenna. It is primarily used for vertical
orientation and commonly mounted on a swivel
in order to be oriented vertically. Other
types that you can choose from are as follows:
* Spiral helix- it is a
circularly-polarized antenna which typically
works on multi-active frequency bandwidth
range of 1 to 18 gigahertz. It has a
hemispherical radome that is designed and
developed to protect the antenna from hostile
surrounding.
* Patch GPS antenna- it is primarily used
for horizontal orientation.
* Planar tings
* Multi-path resistant antenna design.
